The 67th Annual Academy Awards were presented on March 27, 1995 in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. David Letterman hosted.
"Forrest Gump", the sweet but poignant film that followed the main character through four decades of American history, took home six oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor (Tom Hanks) and Best Director (Robert Zemeckis).
The rest of the awards were spread pretty evenly. "Ed Wood" won Best Supporting Actor (Martin Landau) and Best Makeup. "Speed" won two Oscars for sound, and "The Lion King" won two Oscars for music.
