The 35th Annual People's Choice Awards were held January 7, 2009 in Los Angeles and were hosted by Queen Latifah.
"The Dark Knight" was definitely the choice of the people, accounting for five awards including Favorite Movie.
Other winners of multiple awards included the TV show "House," the movie "The Secret Life of Bees," Will Smith and Carrie Underwood.
