The fourth season of American Idol ran in 2005 from January through May. It came down to Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood, with Carrie Underwood taking the title of American Idol. Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul returned as the judges with Ryan Seacrest hosting.
