Season 7 of American Idol debuted on January 15, 2008 and returned with the usual cast of characters - judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul along with host Ryan Seacrest.
At the end it was rocker David Cook, 25 years old from Tulsa, who was named this year's American Idol.
Initial auditions were held in San Diego, Dallas, Omaha, Atlanta, Charleston, Miami, and Philadelphia.
