The Screen Actors Guild Awards began in 1995 and have been awarded annually since then. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) recognizes outstanding performances by their peers. Nominees are picked by a smaller sample of SAG members, but all members are eligible to vote for the winners. The actual statue given at the SAG Awards is called "The Actor."
