2006 Hawaii Elections

Hawaii Senator Daniel AkakaNov 7, 2006

Republican Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle won re-election in the 2006 Hawaii elections. DFL Senator Daniel Akaka (pictured left) also won re-election - he has served as a US Senator from Hawaii since 1990.

Democrats kept both of Hawaii's seats in the House of Representatives as Neil Abercrombie won re-election in the 1st District and Mazie Hirono won an open seat in the 2nd District.

Hawaii 2nd District
Mazie Hirono (61%) DFL
Also on the ballot: Bob Hogue (REP - 39%)
