Democrat Ted Strickland easily won the open Governor's seat in Ohio in 2006, defeating J Kenneth Blackwell. Incumbent Republican Senator Mike DeWine was defeated by DFL challenger Sherrod Brown (pictured left).
There were two extremely close Congressional races in Ohio in 2006. In the 2nd District Incumbent Jean Schmidt narrowly defeated DFL challenger Victoria Wulsin. In the 15th District Incumbent Republican Deborah Pryce edged Mary Jo Kilroy by less than 1000 votes.
