Idaho's Lieutenant Governor Jim Risch (pictured left) defeated DFLer Larry LaRocco to win the open Idaho Senate seat to be vacated by Larry Craig.

Idaho 2nd District Congressman Mike Simpson easily won re-election, while incumbent Bill Sali lost his seat to Democrat Walt Minnick.

US Senator Mike Crapo's term expires in 2010 which is the same year as the next Gubanatorial election in Idaho.

John McCain won Idaho's 4 electoral votes.
