Time Magazine
At the end of every year, TIME magazine selects a person, group of persons, or an idea that (for better or worse) has most influenced events during the year.
The distinction should not necessarily be considered an honor with persons like Ayatollah Khomeini and Adolf Hitler appearing on the list.
In 1999, TIME selected Albert Einsten as the Person of the Century.
