Cleveland Indians ace CC Sabathia went 19-7 with 3.21 ERA and was awarded the 2007 American League Cy Young Award. He also had 209 strikeouts and pitched a major league high of 241 innings.
Sabathia received 19 of 28 first place votes by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
The last Cleveland Indian to win the Cy Young Award was Gaylord Perry back in 1972.
Boston Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett, who outshined Sabathia in the post-season (after voting was completed) and was the league's only 20 game winner, finished second.
