home runs and 130 RBIs while helping the Twins to win the AL Central. Joe Mauer and Johan Santana of the Twins also finished in the top ten.
Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees finished a close second.
Justin Morneau was the fourth Minnesota Twins player to win the award, and the first since Rod Carew in 1977.
