Arizona Diamondbacks' ace pitcher Brandon Webb won the 2006 National League Cy Young Award, with San Diego closer Trevor Hoffman finishing second. Webb was one of six NL pitchers who led the league with 16 wins in 2006. Brandon Webb went 16-8 with a 3.10 ERA.

Before Webb, Randy Johnson was the only other Diamondback to win the Cy Young Award. Johnson won four years in a row from 1999-2002.
