Hanley Ramirez of the Florida Marlins won a close race with Ryan Zimmerman to win the 2006 National League Rookie of the Year. Also finishing in the top four were two teammates of Ramirez - Dan Uggla and Josh Johnson.

Ramirez was the second Rookie of the Year for the Marlins in the last four years, the other being Dontrelle Willis.
