Chicago Cubs catcher Geovany Soto was a near unanimous winner of the 2008 National League Rookie of the Year.
Soto, who hit .285 with 23 home runs and 86 RBIs, received 31 of 32 first place votes. He was the first catcher to win NL Rookie of the Year since Mike Piazza in 1993, and the first Chicago Cub since Kerry Wood ten years ago.
