The 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball championship game was held April 6 at Ford Field in Detroit.
North Carolina handled Michigan State with relative ease to win their fifth national championship by a score of 89-72.
The Tarheels, who were up 55-34 at halftime, won all of their tournament games by double digits.
Ty Lawson led North Carolina in scoring with 21 points. Tyler Hansbrough added 18 and Wayne Ellington chipped in 19 points. Ellington was named the Final Four Outstanding Player. Goran Suton led the Spartans with 17 points.
