NFL: Super Bowl Champions

Super Bowl 42Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is the championship game for the National Football League. Super Bowl Sunday is an event in itself. The game is typically among the most watched television broadcasts every year, and top name entertainers usually perform at half time.

The NFL and AFL used to be rival leagues competing for the same players. In 1967 the champions of each league played the first super bowl. In 1970 the two leagues merged into one NFL.

The most recent Super Bowl Champions are the New York Giants who defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 42.
