Sergio Garcia had the lead going into the final day of the 2007 British Open, but Padraig Harrington caught him and went on to defeat Garcia in a playoff to become the first European to win the British Open since 1999.

Garcia needed a par on 18 to win, but missed a ten foot putt - setting up the playoff.
