Who Won the British Open in 2009?

Stewart Cink wins the 2009 British OpenJul 19, 2009

Stewart Cink won his first major championship at the 2009 British Open, but it was the man who finished second that stole all the headlines.

A 59 year old Tom Watson was an 8-foot par putt away from winning and becoming the oldest champion of a major in history. When the putt went to the right, the wind went out of the Watson sails and Cink won by six shots in the four-hole playoff.

Tiger Woods made news early in the tournament by missing the cut.
