The Buick Invitational has been held since 1952 in the San Diego area. The site moved somewhat in the early years, but since 1968 the Buick Invitational has been held at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California. Singer Andy Williams famously hosted the Buick Invitational through much of its history.

Tiger Woods has won the Buick Invitational the last three years in a row and five times total.
