Boston Marathon
The Boston Marathon is held annually on Patriot's Day (the third Monday in April).
The first race was run way back in 1897 and was won by John J McDermott of New York.
More recently runners from Kenya have dominated by winning 18 of the last 21 races. The most recent winner was Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya who set a new record with a time of 2:03:02.
