Street Sense wins the 133rd Kentucky DerbyMay 5, 2007

Twenty horses started the 2007 Kentucky Derby, and for a time Street Sense was 19th - but not for long. Street Sense and jockey Calvin Borel roared ahead to win the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby.

Street Sense, a 9-2 favorite, finished with a time of 2:02.17 and a 2 1/4 length victory. He was the first 2 year old to win the Kentucky Derby since Spectacular Bid in 1979.

Street Sense's trainer was Carl Nafzger and the owner was James Tafel.
