When entrant Uncle Mo was scratched, jockey John Velazquez switched horses and rode Animal Kingdom instead - all the way to victory in the 137th Kentucky Derby.

Animal Kingdom ran the mile and a quarter in 2:02.04 and won by 2 3/4 lengths over Nehro.
