Alberto Contidor won the 96th Tour de France with a time of 85 hours, 48 minutes and 35 seconds. It was his second Tour de France win.
A comeback attempt by seven time winner Lance Armstrong resulted in a third place finish.
There were 21 total stages covering a distance of nearly 2,200 miles. The Tour de France has now been won by a Spaniard for four consecutive years.
