Womens Giant Slalom
The Women's Giant Slalom has been an event in the Winter Olympics since 1952. This alpine skiing event is a technical event where the racer skis between sets of poles. The poles are spaced at a slightly longer distance than in the regular slalom event.
The latest Gold Medal Winner in the Women's Giant Slalom is Julia Mancuso of the United States. The other Americans to win Gold in Giant Slalom include Debbie Armstrong in 1984 and Andrea Mead Lawrence back in 1952.
