Reese Witherspoon was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon on March 22, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She graduated from a private girls' school in Nashville, and then spent a year at Stanford before pursuing her acting career. However, she did have quite a career before college - included a leading role in "The Man In the Moon."
She garnered a Golden Globe nomination for "Legally Blonde," and eventually won extreme critical praise and multiple awards - including an Academy Award for Best Actress - for playing June Carter in "Walk the Line."
