Paul William Azinger was born January 6, 1960 in Massachusetts. He turned pro in 1981 after having attended Florida State University. Azinger won eleven PGA tournaments from 1987-1993 including one major - the 1993 PGA Championship.
Paul Azinger was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and wrote the book "Zinger" where he discusses his bout with the disease.
Azinger was named the captain for the 2008 US Ryder Cup team.
