Justine Henin

Justine Henin was born June 1, 1982 in Belgium. She was exposed to tennis at a young age and routinely attended the French Open with her mother. She has been with longtime coach Carlos Rodriguez of Argentina since the age of 14.

Justine began on the professional tour in 1999. She came on strong in 2001, reaching the semi-finals of the French Open and the final of Wimbledon. Justine Henin won her first Grand Slam title at the 2003 French Open. She has gone on to win seven Grand Slam titles, including four French Open titles.

Henin married Pierre-Yves Hardenne in 2002, but the couple split up in 2007.

She announced a suprising retirement from professional tennis in 2008, while still on top of the world rankings.
