Christina Marie Aguilera was born December 18, 1980 in Staten Island, New York. In 1990 she appeared on "Star Search", but did not win. In 1993 she joined the cast of Disney's "The New Mickey Mouse Club."
In 1998, she recorded the song "Reflection" from Disney's "Mulan", which led to a recording contract. Her debut album "Christina Aguilera" sold millions and produced several number one singles. At the 2000 Grammys she won Best New Artist.
Her biological father was born in Ecuador, and Christina Aguilera has explored her Latin heritage in some of her recording. She has won a Latin Grammy Award.
Her second English album "Stripped" produced the Grammy winning song "Beautiful."
She is currently married to music executive Jordan Bratman.
