Feb 11, 1962 -
Sheryl Suzanne Crow was born February 11, 1962 in Kennett, Missouri. Sheryl was part of a very musical family, and she was very active in school. Sheryl Crow attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a degree in music education.
Out of college, Sheryl Crow worked as an elementary school music teacher in suburban St Louis. She sang in bands on the weekends. Crow then broke into the music business by writing advertising jingles.
Sheryl Crow moved to Los Angeles in 1986 with her jingle demo tapes in hand and found work as a backup singer and toured with Michael Jackson on his Bad World Tour. Crow, however, remained mired in the background until the eventual release of her first album "Tuesday Night Music Club" in 1993. Boosted by the song "All I Wanna Do", the album shot Sheryl Crow to stardom. Since then Crow has continued to release critically aclaimed and commercially successful music.
