The Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play began in 1994. Before that plays and musicals were lumped together in a single category - Tony Award for Best Revival. The award is given to a production which has already appeared on Broadway in a previous season. Revivals of Death of a Salesman have won this award twice, in 1999 and in 2012.
